The Dissertation
In the Advanced Higher Modern Studies dissertation, learners choose any Modern Studies topic or issue that refers to a complex, contemporary
political or social issue.
The learner then researches the issue and has a maximum of 5,000 words to write up his/her findings.
The completed dissertation must be completed and posted to SQA by the presenting school/college by a date set by SQA, normally around Easter time.
The Advanced Higher Modern Studies dissertation is worth 50 marks.
